What a fantastic time to be alive!

No wonder the earth is so populated; who wouldn't want to be alive at a time like this!

Take science. I mean every day some mind-boggling shit is happening. Today I read that scientists have created a brewer's yeast that can use light as an energy source, much in the same way plants do.

WHAT!?! That's like turning an animal into a plant.

So I can brew directly from the Sun. That's wild, though it may take a few years before I can purchase a pack of said yeast on eBay. I'm happy to wait a bit.

And they have finally figured out that Seaweed does a valuable job, which can be quantified; estimated to be worth around US$500 billion a year. Word. Next they'll be saying plants clean the air!*

Yesterday was even crazier.
Perhaps I should subscribe to less journals.

*Actually, they already did that one. Each adult tree is, in fact, worth hundreds of thousand of pounds per year in environmental services. Look it up. Then, you know, protect your local trees.

Nathan, meet Nathan.

I've not played Uncharted, but I have enjoyed Nathan Fillion's career so far, so when one of my kids sent me this* link;

UNCHARTED - Live Action Fan Film (2018)

I wonder how I missed it. What a great fit. Damn! According to this, he even looks like him! And with Stephen Lang, too! This will be a great show. A sure-fire success.

Fact is, the vast majority of fine TV shows I have no time for (and we live in the Television Golden Age). But this would be one of those shows which I Would Not Miss. Not one episode.

And yet, it is still not a reality.
I wonder why …

We started watching Serenity, is the reason, I guess.

Mystic = bullshit

So, the world was skipping along, going forward, getting fixed, getting better, all that good stuff (no really, planet Earth has come a long way in the last 100 years) and then BOOM! Some idiot decides to drop a literal bomb on the world order.

Yes, Putin may be an idiot, but the simple fact is, he's still standing.

So, you need to consider that every single one of these sorcerers, magicians, mystics, psychics and other would-be super-powered individuals are absolutely full of shit.

Let me restate, you are full of shit. And the quicker your "congregation" or "cluster" or what-the-fuck-ever you call them, realise this, the better.

Otherwise, you would have done something about this. Right? ...

Sneaked your astral body into his night chamber, influenced his thinking, transported yourself in and assassinated. Put person A in place X. Or ANY FUCKING THING. But you have not.

So, we need to consider two possibilities;

ONE: This is exactly the way things are supposed to roll, and anyone enlightened enough to be able to perform these feats knows this and is letting it happen, so you can stop complaining and get on with it. Or..

TWO: Every single claim to "extraordinary" or "super" or whatever powers is total and utter bullshit and you need to get your head straight ASAP.

I write good code when I'm drunk. Fact.

I remember a night well, years ago. I was up late listening to Annie Nightingale, Amon Tobin live session, which was by the way mind-blowing. After, I couldn't sleep and just kept drinking. And coding.

Around 5am or thereabouts I was so smashed I had to piss in a nearby pot and decided, fuck yes I will write a live chat system for corz.org.

And about two hours later it was done and I uploaded it and within the hour was chatting to people, bleezin (which is one local word for drunk - there are many).

I never released this code. I always imagined it must be flawed in some way, hackable, exploitable, insecure; as I was so fucking minced when I wrote it. But still, I uploaded it, plugged it into the main page, contact page. This was decades ago.

It's still there, and often attacked. Never cracked to this day. Even that Russian hacker years ago that managed to get a file into a folder he definitely shouldn't have, didn't crack it. (thanks for being RuskiGreyHat, btw, as opposed to black; appreciated).

The thing is, when I look at it, I am amazed by its beauty (and this is early PHP), its elegant logic, the way it PUMPS data, like I was channelling Amon Tobin while coding. It even handles bbcode! Holy Shit!

It's also fun to read, like looking at pre-schooler art (which is often way better than actual "art"). So I suppose I should put it up somewhere, and others can have that fun, too. That's sharing. I'm not good at that; much to my detriment.

But I was minkit at the time, being one of those experimental(amazing)-still phases.. I literally couldn't get through to the bathroom. Sure, that was a big flat but, come on.

So it sits here, in the back-end, working, but privately. About ten years ago I got a kick (again, leathered), to upgrade it to HTML5, and ripped out those parts, but the actual code remains in its original state. I wouldn't want to mess with it.

I did a similarly-sozzled ESP32 sketch recently, which is simply fabulous! (insert deleted laugh)

I'm always messing around with the back-end.. See a bug? Wait a minute and try again. Still see a bug? Mail Me!
