Drag&Drop queued Copy in Windows 7

I'm selecting big files, copying to an external drive. I copy one, minutes to go, look for the next, I drag the next file onto the existing copy windoid and WHAM! A + sign appears. At Last! I think, I can queue copies in Windows. "I LOVE WINDOWS 7!" I exclaim.

Then, of course, Windows 7 opens a second windoid and begins copying to the poor wee drive in parallel, fragmenting all over the place. As the kids say, Epic Fail.

I'll try it the next time I'm in my Windows 8 VM. We'll see.
