Andor
I was holidaying in London as a young child when Star Wars came out.My Granda took us to a fancy cinema to see it. I remember on the way back buying two light sabre's in 1001 Toys in East Finchley (now most likely consumed by one of the major players), so my best friend and I could have Light Sabre battles when I got home, even though he had no idea (yet) what a light sabre even was.
This makes me qualified to comment on Star Wars IP.
I was a kid. Star wars was Awesome. Now I am an adult and most media labelled "Star Wars" is utter shite.
Not so, Andor. I honestly don't know who's behind it. I must pay attention to the credits sometime as I binge season two, but this is proper Star Wars. Star Wars for adults.
If you were a kid when Star Wars first appeared, or even a more discerning younger human, you will definitely enjoy this show.
Ashoka, so-so. The Acolyte, fuck no! Skeleton Crew, yeah okay, with the kids. But Andor is something else; actual decent writing, top-notch acting, and laser-focused direction. The cinematography is A++, art direction, costumes, it just goes on and on. Watching it, more than once I've just gasped and thought, "Fuck me! How much does one of these episodes cost???"
If you've been skipping Star Wars shows thinking they are just more boring fodder (and I am with you, there) DO NOT skip this one. It's Star Wars TV they way it was always meant to be.
And yes, obviously the Mandalorian also counts as proper Star Wars TV, but that's a whole different topic, and seriously people; not on the same level (Pedro always gives 100% and what the Mandalorian lacks, is not his fault). It's made for kids. Andor is definitely not.
If I were an aspiring Hollywood actor, THIS is the gig I would want. In the future, this on your resume spills gold over all the other shit you did to get there.
Andor, check it out; is what I'm saying.
;o)
