A victim of its own success.. Literally!
I love the English language and I've spent most of my life pushing it one way and another. I love its speed, its dynamics, how it sounds in the mouth. I love how it evolves and reshapes itself around the time, moving always moving...STOP!
According to the new Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word "Literally" can now mean its exact opposite. No, I'm serious. But before you get all figurative on my ass, know this..
The word "Literally" means, "something that is actually true, or exactly what you are saying word for word".
If you use it in any other way you are either ignorant of this obvious pillar of linguistic understanding, or else you are a complete fuckwit. One or the other*. And now you have no excuse.
Sheesh!
