The linux website sync tool..
..takes output from a *nix shell command like this..
# copy all the files over, newer files only, and log
cp -d -f -p -r -u -v /home/cor /bax >> $logfile
and converts it into valid ftp commands we can use to update our live web site
with all the new and changed files from its development mirror. i.e synchronize
