Twisted Stems

The concept was simple: a pair of thorned stems, twisting together. That was the easy part. Well, eventually I got my image, and it sings to me; this may just be my favourite scanorama.

I always liked thorns. I realized as a child that the rose is simply protecting itself from those who would grab at its beauty. They will feel the sting of pain for their trouble. And afterwards, probably quite some time afterwards, they may learn from that, and be better for that.

Much later, I realized that people do the same thing, and their thorns are often there simply to protect themselves from those who would strike and claw at them. But I know that even two thorned humans can come together, the thorns soften, and the two become one. What better way, then, to represent this than with thorned stems composed of human tissue?

I want this blown up to six feet plus, and hung on my wall, just so I can sit back comfortably on the floor and enjoy it.
